Are you blaming thyroid for your weight gain?
I am associated with the wellness industry for almost 12 years now. In all these years I have come across so many ladies with the brain tattoo attributing weight gain to thyroid. Most of them don’t realise it could be due to their recent life style change, like a new career, marriage , pregnancy, etc. Those late night dinners, team outings and parties in fancy restaurants with fusion of cuisines leave them with expanded waistline and overworked taste buds...it becomes next to impossible to get back to normal food habit....result - hormonal imbalance.
Thyroid hormones are appropriate as long as we follow good food habits and lifestyle. But once the imbalance strikes in, you may see symptoms like weight gain, mood swings, irregular periods, hairfall, etc.
However, If you are sure your thyroid is the culprit (do u know your thyroid type - high or low?) do small changes to get big results.
First thing, come back to normal home cooked food. Develop a habit of eating from your kitchen. Control your sweet tooth cravings. Your weight gain may be because of that samosa or pizza you had in between your meals, not your thyroid. Be consciously aware of what goes inside your mouth. Eat what you like, not because it's available....wish you happy hormones!!!!
